Sarcastic Quotes and Quotes about Sarcasm from Early Christian History
Why I love being a Christian. Sarcasm has deep roots in Christianity – think of Erasmus. Think of God – God gives Job quite a tongue lashing for thinking that he understood the ways of God. Anyway, some sarcastic fun…

Here is an interesting article explaining why poverty can be a hole that is difficult to dig out of.

I’m an introverted person – social situations drain me. Not that I don’t like people but I can only handle so much before I’m emotionally drained. Being alone is not a fearful thing to me, rather it gives me strength. I have always struggled with my role as pastor because I can only handle so much social interaction before I’m “done”. This is not the picture that has been presented of what a pastor is. How can an introvert effectively pastor people?
I’m thankful for this article at the Evangelical Outpost. There is a book that deals with introversion in the church. Our society, especially the evangelical church, can look down upon those who are not driven to success and success is tied to extroversion. Read this article for a more balanced approach to ministry.

The Associated Press: Fast-growing Christian churches crushed in China
The Chinese government is cracking down on the Christian church. Please pray for the Christians to have faith and encouragement. Pray for the release of the pastors. Pray for the persecutors that God would grant them the grace to believe.

Restoring the Diaconate of Women | In Communion
Here is a very powerful article from the Orthodox church concerning female deacons. Apparently female deacons have served in a very similar role to male deacons for the first 1000 years of the church. I appreciate the call in the Orthodox church to renew the role of deacons in general and female deacons specifically.
I think that this article offers a lot of background history to the position and functions that female deacons served. It is well worth the read.
